Fall is here and Halloween is just around the corner. There will be lots of candy and treats for everyone, except your pups! We can’t have our furry family members left out this season so we found some festive DIY treats for them. It’s not fall without pumpkin so try out these peanut butter and pumpkin dog treats:
All you need is:
*2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
*1/2 cup canned pumpkin
*2 tablespoons peanut butter
*1/2 teaspoon salt
*1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff. Roll the dough into a 1/2-inch-thick roll. Cut into 1/2-inch pieces.
3. Bake in preheated oven until hard, about 40 minutes.

For something a little easier you can mix 16oz of plain greek yogurt with a 1/2 cup of peanut butter and one chopped banana. Freeze it for a couple hours or overnight and boom- a delicious post-walk snack!
Last but not least we have the easiest and most festive treat of all: pumpkin cubes! It’s so easy there’s reason not to make these for your pup. Just pour 100% pumpkin (you can buy it in the can) and pour it into an ice cube tray and let it freeze. Your dog will enjoy these treats and you can feel good because they are great for them!
